Adopting the Right Business Model

When?

7th Nov -

2023

  • Component parts of a business model
  • Pros & Cons of the different models
  • Lessons learned from costly mistakes

This session explores different ways of organising the business to deliver the value proposition.

To grow and thrive in markets characterised by volatility and extreme pressure on resources, estate agents need to find a way to perform in the present, whilst creating more options for future advantage. It requires a more fluid approach to decision making, reducing the gap between thinking about doing things and doing them.

Our expert panel looks at the advantages and lessons to learn – both good and bad – from some of the existing business models – providing insights to help delegates identify ideas to adopt.

EA MASTERS PANELLISTS

Lee O’Brien, iad UK
iad operates a self-employed agency business model.  It launched in the UK (& Florida) in July 2023 amidst claims that its success in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, and Mexico proves the efficacy of the model. There are over 20,000 agents working under the iad brand, with annual revenues of more than £500m. In the UK the iad model offers partner agents a commission split of up to 87.8 per cent with financial incentives by way of revenue share.

Nicky Oliver, Fine & Country
Fine & Country operates a self-employed model, specialising in the unique and premium property market. There are two variations to the model – the first extends a territorial licence agreement to independent estate agency business owners, enabling access to branding, marketing, technical support, and exposure to a global market, whilst retaining the freedom to operate their business independently. The second is an associate model that allows individuals to join Fine & Country on a sub-licence agreement.
